Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

We have been through soo much with Makayla dealing with her eczema,we were taking her to the doctors at least once a week,to two times a week,they just kept putting her on antibiotics different steroid creams,lotions,we tyred EVERYTHING,I went in the drs a few times in tears,with all the stuff we had been using just for them to tell me to try something new, try to take her of milk,off soy,nothing was working it was never ending, me and Matt were so drained Makayla needed so much more attention because she was always itchy always fussy,we had to wake up with her 3 times a night because she would wake up itching her skin,and we had to rub her back so she would go back to sleep.Me and Matt have to hold her down and rub her with lotion from head to toe 3 times a day, my grandma and I had to sew socks on the hands of all her pajamas so she wouldn't Itch,it got to be so much,we took her to a dermatologist, for him just to say try another steroid cream,Finally because we found out she is allergic to Penutbutter and we had to rush her to the hospital, they referred us to an allergy specialist we went their yesterday,the doctor said it defiantly looks like shes having an allergic reaction to something else still ,so they took her blood and tested her for all kids of things,so we should know in the next 2 weeks,what it is,and we can stop it,thank god,my poor baby,has been miserable,it is not fun to watch your child have to suffer like that.and I had a few friends who were really supportive, who had children with eczema,and would tell me things they tyred,but most people were very negative about it,staring, or saying whats wrong with her? ?or one lady came up to me at the pool and said she shouldn't be in the water with the kids she has poison oak, I said no,its eczema,and she dint believe me,lol or worst ,people who say oh i know what eczema is its caused be stress, your baby's stressed out or that's so sad,it never goes away,giving false information,on just things they have heard.Even when we had gloves or socks on Makaylas hands people give us dirty looks,like were being getto or something,when all were trying to do is protect our daughters skin,I cant even imagine how people feel that have kids that have something really serious that they have to deal with all the time, and deal with all those people,it makes me really feel for them .
The dr also looked at Brielle yesterday,and said it looked like she was having an mild allergic reaction also,so we also tested her,because he said alot of times siblings have the same allergic reactions,so ill keep you all posted on their update in a few weeks,when we go back.
Eczema FACTS

Eczema is something unknown happening to the body,a reaction to food,or environmental allergens, things like that

It usually is in young children,but you can get it at any age,and usually gets better with age

Long contact with soap or water can dry the skin,and make it worse,they should only bath for 10 min Pat dry and have lotion applied three times daily

Hot or cold weather with low humidity may cause the skin to worsen must be minimized by environmental temp control

diet in some people,(for Allergies)

Bacterial infection witch may result from scratching may be treated with topical or antibiotic if needed

emotion - having a constant Itch or rash may cause anyone to become tense,medicine may be needed

Child should only be in water for short times,and unscented soap should be used with unscented lotion after water several times daily

Avoid exposure to cleaning products,dyes fragrances laundry and toiletry products

Clothes should be soft and not wool or abrasive fabrics,natural things like cotton allow perspiration to be evaporated more easy.

These are just a few things that help if you have a child with eczema,its good to give everyone knowledge about it also,so people arnt so judgemental about it.
